INDIAN SUP SURF GIRL MAKING WAVES

Tanvi
,
Don Sup World Paddler has heard of your accomplishments and the good things you’ve done in your community.  Empowering women  and children to SUP and Surf in India  is so cool!   We’d love to learn more!

Do you remember your first time on a SUP?
Yes I started stand up paddling when I was 10 years at a surf ashram at my hometown Mulki, Karnataka, India.  Being in water was the best experience of my life.

Has surfing or paddleboarding allowed you any experiences within your community?
Yes, good and bad experiences. Just because I was a girl who wanted to surf and SUP race in the Ocean, people generally teased me for colour, blonde hair and my clothing.  It was so hard but these always helped me chase my goals.

Where is your favorite place to surf and paddle?
And I have made so many good experiences in the past 10 years from surfing at my favourite surf spot - Bali, Stand Up Paddling race at my favourite Cloudbreak, Fiji.
